The World Water Polo Coaches Association, a partner of our website, chose the best water polo coaches of the year, for the third time. The WWPCA Board of Directors announced its choice.
Ivica Tucak, head coach of Croatia, has been named The Best Men’s Coach in the World in 2017. Adam Krikorian (USA) will receive the award The Best Women’s Coach in the World in 2017.
Krikorian won the third title in a row, while Tucak was promoted the best for the first time. Dejan Savic (Serbia) received awards in 2015 and in 2016.
WWPCA Board of directors didn’t have a hard decision. Tucak led Croatia to the gold medal at the World Championships, while the USA women team won all it could this year, like in the previous few seasons. As a coach of the USA team, Krikorian has clinched 2 titles of the Olympic champion, 2 golds at the World Championships, 4 titles in the FINA World League, two golds in FINA World Cup…
At the same time, FINA honoured the world’s best aquatics athletes of the year. The decision which waterpology.com published a month ago was confirmed. Croatia (men) and US (women) were honoured with the FINA Best Male/Female Water Polo Team 2017 awards. Tucak and Krikorian were named the best water polo coaches by FINA, too.
