The first big game of this season’s MPSF women water polo play was held at UCLA, where No.3 UCLA hosted No 4. California.

The conference game, played yesterday, saw completely opposite storyline. The UCLA Bruins, led by Maddie Musselman (2 goals), grabbed an early 5:0 lead. The home side was 5:1 up at halftime. The Golden Bears cut the deficit to one (4:5) 1:12 minutes before the end of the third period. UCLA entered the last quarter with a 2-goal advantage (6:4). The fourth period saw 6 goals, but California didn’t manage to equalize. UCLA maintained a 2-goal lead (9:7)
