Partizan played with a new head coach in Budva
The last round of the Regional league didn’t see crucial matches, because scores couldn’t change anything significant on the table.
The games in 18th round were “final rehearsals” for three participants of the Final four tournament: Jug, Mladost, and Partizan. Jadran (Montenegro), the fourth club that will play at F4, had a bye this week.
Jug and Mladost had successful rehearsals, Partizan was defeated.
Mladost didn’t show any mercy in the match against Mornar (Split). The team from Zagreb defeated Mornar 12-3. The experienced goalkeeper of Mladost Fran Vican showed that he is in great shape and he is most deserving for the good defense of Mladost. The players of Mornar their second goal scored seven minutes by the end (10-2).
Jug did not pay much attention to defense, but the players from Dubrovnik were excellent in attack. They beat Jadran (Split) 18-8. After the first quarter, title-holder led 4-3. Then Jug scored seven goals in a row for an 11-3 lead in the second minute of the third period. From that point, only the margin of their win was in question. At the end, it was expanded to 10.
Budva beat Partizan 9-7. The team from Belgrade played with a new coach. On Thursday evening the management of the club unexpectedly decided to change a head coach. Zoran Milenkovic was replaced with Stefan Ciric. Partizan announced that this decision is the best possible solution in this moment. But, the management would like Milenkovic to stay in Partizan in another position.
Partizan led 1-0 and 2-1. The Montenegrins secured a victory in the middle of the game. They netted four straight goals to go 7-3 up in the first minute of the second half.
Primorje (Rijeka) did a clean job against Vojvodina and achieved an 11-3 win.
The board of the league published the schedule of the Final four. On Friday, March 30th, in first semifinal Jug will play against Partizan at 18.30. The match Jadran – Mladost will start at 20.15. The final game is on Saturday, April 1st at 19.30.
