“Three-horse race” in Group B was continued. As expected, Szolnok and Pro Recco recorded big wins. Spandau is still on the same level with this two giants after collecting three points in Bucharest.

Group A

Olympiacos achieved its 5th win in a row. The Greeks beat Hanover thanks to a perfect defence in the first two quarters. Olympiacos built a 6:0 lead by the halftime. Hannover “woke up” in the second half of the match, but it wasn’t able to recover after the big shock in the first half. The home team recorded a solid victory (11:7).

Barceloneta did a clean job in Belgrade, against Partizan (15:5). After the 2nd period, the Spaniards led 7:3. They secured a victory in the third quarter. Thanks to a lot of goals from the counter attacks, Barceloneta jumped to a 12:4 lead before the last period.

The only thrilling match in this round in Group A was played in Moskow, where Dynamo and Brescia shared the points. It was a hard battle from the beginning. Group B

The sixth round in Group B was highlighted by a game in Bucharest, where Steaua hosted Spandau 04, the biggest surprise in this season’s Champions League. The match offered a lot of twists and turns. The home team led 2:0 early in the second period, but the Germans managed to turn a deficit to a 3:2 and a 4:3 lead.

All three teams have 15 points each. But in the next two rounds, Spandau water polo players will face Pro Recco. They will have another chance to produce a big upset (after beating Szolnok 10:9 in the 3rd round). Spandau won’t have easy tasks, but nothing is impossible…
