Szolnok turned the derby into a light training

Ferencvaros and Szolnok water polo club continue to dominate in the Hungarian championship and it is going to be a very, very close race for the first place before the start of the playoffs.

Fradi won another city derby and it is something that they are exceptionally good this season. So, this time it was OSC turn see how good Fradi became. The hosts won easily 12:5 and the game was practically decided already after the first eight minutes.

The home team opened the game with two quick goals from Denes Varga who eventually ended as the best scorer of the game finding the net four times.

Only in the last quarter Ferencvaros water polo players relaxed a little bit more than in the previous 24 minutes, so OSC won that period of the match 3:2.

In another big derby, Szolnoki water polo club destroyed visiting Eger 16:7. The guests hoped that this could be a close game, but it was not.

The defending European and Hungarian champion started the match in furious was, taking a 6:2 lead, mostly thanks to a good role of Milan Aleksic.

Serbian water polo player was really in a good mood to create many problems to Eger, eventually finishing the game with four goals. He also had a great help from compatriot Andrija Prlainovic and at the halftime, Szolnok gained a six goals lead (9:3).

In the last quarter, Bence Batori confirmed the convincing victory of Szolnok.

Honved also recorded a big win against visiting Debrecen – 12:3 and it was a match in which the team from Budapest played an extraordinary defense in the first three quarters.

Marton Szivos scored a hattrick for the winning team, while Roland Simon and Sandor Iles each found the net twice.

The most dramatic game was played in Miskolc where the visiting BVSC won 12:11. Joszef Berta scored the 11th goal for Miskolc 30 seconds before the end, but the home team didn’t have enough time to go for a draw.
