Sabadell water polo club won a local derby against Terrassa – 9:7 in the match of Round 17 of Liga Premaat to take over the second place in the standings from Didac Cobacho’s team.

The important win was the main goal for Sabadell because the second placed team will avoid dominant Barceloneta until the final of the playoffs.

Chava Gomez’s team trailed during most of the game. At the beginning of the last quarter, Terrassa had a 6:5 advantage. But in the last eight minutes, Sabadell managed to overturn the result and gained an important victory.

Sant Andreu and Real Canoe played an exciting and close game which ended up with a 7:7 draw. The home team had a 3:2 advantage at the halftime.

But, when the match continued, it was a team from Madrid who looked more motivated and with this point, Real Canoe maintained in the eight position in the standings. The player of the match was Víctor Gutiérrez who scored a hattrick for Real Canoe.

Barcelona water polo club continued to fight for the fourth place with a win against Navarra in Pamplona. The Catalans recorded a 13:7 victory that seemed relatively easy but it wasn’t.

For the three quarters, Navarra water polo players fought very well. Nevertheless, in the last eight minutes, Fran Valera played like a true leader and Barcelona scored six times. Also, Valera was the best scorer of the game with four goals.

In the other Barcelona derby of the day, the CE Mediterrani has defeated the CN Catalunya (8:6) to continue, with real chances to continue the fight for the fourth place.

Mirko Blazevic’s team started the game in a good fashion, taking the 2:0 lead in the first eight minutes. After that, they continued to dictate the tempo and opened the door to victory.
