For the second straight year the New York Athletic club has won the US National League. NYAC defeated Olympic club by a score of 11-9 in route to victory. Up until this game Olympic Club had not been defeated in this year’s tournament. UCLA alumni Josh Samuels and Chancellor Ramirez scored a combined six goals for NYAC. Samuels who was a 2016 Olympian was named tournament MVP. Both goal keepers strutted their stuff in the game as well three time Olympian Merrill Moises had nine saves while 2016 NCAA champion Lazar Andric posted eight saves on the day and was named goal keeper of the tournament. Paul Reynolds of the Olympic Club led the tournament in goals finding the back of the net 26 times.

Alumni and USA University played for third place and the game saw USA University outlast Alumni by a score of 8-6. The fifth place game was played by USA Junior and LA Athletic club. Again it was a USA squad that came up victorious with USA Junior winning the game. In seventh place we saw USA Academy lose to USA collegiate. This win was USA Collegiate first win of the weekend.

Later this summer we will no doubt see some of these teams compete in the Senior National Championships. By coming in first and second New York Athletic Club and Olympic Club have received automatic berths to the tournament.
