Only two clubs remain unbeaten after two rounds in Group  A1 of the 2017/18 Regional League. Title-holder Jug Dubrovnik and its archrival in Croatia Mladost Zagreb have six points each

Round 2 was opened by one of the “water polo classics”. Mladost Zagreb and Partizan, which were the two best water polo clubs of the world in the 20th century, met in Belgrade. The first quarter determined the rest of the encounter. Mladost started like a storm. The Croats, led by Luka Bukic, jumped to 4:0 in the seventh minute (Bukic scored three of four). The young team from Belgrade started climbing back and trailed 3:5 early in the third period, but Mladost controlled the match till the end and won 9:5.

Jug was too strong for Jadran Split, the quarter-finalist of the Euro Cup. Jug built a five-goal lead until the 17th minute (6:1). Jadran managed to come close to the hosts in the finish of the third period (8:5). After that, Jug netted five straight goals for a convincing win (13:5).

Primorje beat Budva water polo players, as a guest, in a last-second drama. The team from Rijeka dominated in the first half. Budva its only goal in the first half scored in the 13th minute (when Porobic netted for 1:3). Primorje went 5:1 up in the second minute of the third period. But soon everything turned around. Budva responded with four goals in a row and managed to equalise – 5:5 (5:18 before the end). There were a lot of chances on both sides in the remaining five minutes. The decision came in the last second when Tkac converted an extra-man attack. The guests won 6:5, despite Budva held Primorje scoreless for 14:48 minutes of the second half.

As expected, Jadran Herceg Novi beat POSK. The team from Herceg Novi led 4:2 at half-time. After the 5-minute break, Jadran ruled the field and achieved a solid 10:4 win.

Mornar Split achieved its first victory of the season beating Primorac. Mornar had a three-goal lead in the third period (6:3, 8:5, 9:6). Primorac reduced the gap in the fourth (9:8), but the hosts kept the advantage for a 10:8 win.

The 2nd round in Group A2 was highlighted by a Serbian derby. In a thrilling encounter Red Star (Crvena Zvezda) defeated Vojvodina 10:9 (2:1, 3:3, 2:2, 3:3).
