The fourth round of the 2018/19 Regional League offered two big derbies and a flood of goals. Mladost remained atop the table. The club from Zagreb is the only one which collected all 12 points.

A derby that was played in Zagreb saw 35 goals! Mladost beat Jadran Herceg Novi 20:15. Mladost needed just 10:30 minutes to earn a 10:5 lead. Jadran reduced the gap to two in the 1st minute of the second half (9:11). Mladost soon produced an 8:1 rush which decided everything. The hosts were 18:10 up 75 seconds before the last break. There was no way back for Jadran in the remaining time. The top scorer, with five goals, was Jadran’s captain Marko Petkovic. Three Mladost’s players scored 4 goals each – Antonio Petkovic, a Serb Milos Cuk, and a Russian Konstantin Kharkov.

After 4 rounds Mladost already  had an impressive goal difference – 64:32

Another derby was played in Dubrovnik where spectators saw a replay of the Day 2 of the Champions League, played last week. Jug faced Jadran Split. Last week, Jug beat Jadran with an ease (13:6), but the outcome of the Regional League encounter was different. The rivals shared the points after a big battle. There were a lot of twists and turns. The lead was constantly changing the side. Jadran entered the last eight minutes with an 8:7 advantage. Jug netted two goals in a span of fewer than two minutes for a 9:8 lead. But, the visitors took a point home, as Butic found the net for the final score 100 seconds before the last buzzer (9:9).

Primorac collected the first three points in this season. The Kotor-based team hosted Partizan. The visitors started well and earned a 2:0 lead. The hosts responded with four consecutive goals. Partizan started climbing back and managed to equalize early in the third quarter (7:7). The Montenegrins, led by Damir Crepulja and Goran Grgurević (5 goals each) scored 6 goals in a row by the middle of the last quarter (13:7). Partizan couldn’t come back anymore. Primorac won 14:10.

Sabac posted the most convincing win of the day. The newcomer in the Regional League Group A1 played against POSK Split at home. The visiting side was in front (2:1) after the first quarter. Sabac dominated after the first break. The hosts’ defence let just four goals until the end. They didn’t make many mistakes in attack and celebrated a 12:6 victory.

Crvena Zvezda (Red Star) remained cemented for the bottom of the table. The former European champion is still with no points. Red Star hosted Mornar Split. In the opening minutes of the second half, it seemed that Red Star would finally win, as it was 5:2 up. But, Mornar was able to cut the deficit by the end of the third quarter (6:5). The Serbs gained a 2-goal lead early in the fourth (7:5), they had an 8:7 advantage too, but they didn’t manage to save at least a point. Mornar netted two goals in the last two minutes for a 9:8 victory.
