Favourites are still on the winning track in Hungary. Five teams already after three rounds od national water polo competition established themselves as candidates for the biggest achievements.

Defending champion Szolnok continued to literally play with the opponents. In the match of Round 3, this water polo team defeated visiting Debrecen 19:7. This was, of course, not a surprise considering a fact that Debrecen has one of the poorest records at this early stage in the league.

Szolnok was great in the attack but defensively played at the highest level only in the second half, when home team conceded just two goals.

Batori, Zalanki, Aleksic, and Cuk all scored three goals each to make this a convincing victory for Szolnok.

BVSC Zuglo also has a perfect record so far, but in this round, it had some problem with the newcomers, Domino Avus. Eventually, the home team won 10:8.

At the start of the last quarter visitor managed to equalize thanks to Ekler Bendeguz’s goal (7:7), but then Miklos Csapo found the net two times in a row to secure BVSC a third win in the league.

Csapo and Bendeguz were also the best scorers of the game with three goals each.

Ferencvaros is the third team in Group A with the perfect record so far, but Fradi played one match less than opponents because it had to participate in Euro Cup qualifiers recently.

In this round of the league, Ferencvaros scored an easy victory against visiting UVSE – 19:7. Szilard Jansik and Krisztian Manhercz both scored five goals for Fradi.

Eger secured another victory to remain at the top of the standings in Group B. This time it was at home against PVSL – 14:7.

After a slow start in the first quarter, the home water polo team started to play like favorite is supposed to. Strahinja Rasovic performed really well, ending a game with four goals for Eger. Kovacs and Vlachopoulos added two apiece.

Miskolc continued to follow Eger and in Round 3 it didn’t have problems to overcome visitors from Szentes – 12:5. It was another night to remember for Alex Bowen who scored five goals for the home team.

The biggest win in Group A came in Budapest, where OSC trashed Tatabanya – 15:3. It was a really good performance from the OSC, who had five players with two scored goals.

Also, in the last match of this group, Honved showed no mercy against visiting Szeged – 15:5. Only in the first quarter, Szeged put up some kind of resistance, but after that, it was all about Honved. Toth and Mahnerc crafted this win for Budapest team, each by scoring a hattrick.
