Three rounds before the end of the Regional water polo league, Jug secured first place on the table, and now is almost sure that it will be the host of the Final four tournament. According to the rules, the host of the final tournament is the best-placed club in the league. However, hosting can be given over to the second best team even though it’s hard to believe it could happen.

Jug is coming back in good shape. Title holders achieved a clear victory against Mornar in Split, 19-9.  The score was tied in the middle of the first quarter (3:3). Then, “storm” from Dubrovnik started to blow.  The guests produced a 4-0 rush for a 7-3 lead at the beginning of the second quarter. From that point, only the margin of their win was in question. At the end it went up 10. The most playful was Paolo Obradovic, who netted five times.

Expectedly, the most interesting match of the round was the duel between Mladost and Jadran (Herceg Novi) in Zagreb. The home team led 5-2 after the second quarter. By scoring three consecutive goals in a span of 85 seconds at the start of the second half, Jadran set score to equal (5-5). The champions from Montenegro continued the series of goals, and soon they turned a 2-5 deficit into a 7-5 lead, three and a half minutes before the end of the third period. But, the hosts came back quickly, so before the last period, Mladost led 8-7. The water polo players from Zagreb scored one more goal in the fourth quarter for the final score 9-7. Now, Mladost has only three points less than Jadran, and have to play three games till the end, one more than Jadran, which still holds the second place.

Budva is getting better and better and runs away from the bottom of the table. The team from the famous Montenegrin tourist resort beat Vojvodina, as a guest, 12-8. Budva took the lead at the start of the game. Vojvodina managed to catch the guests just once (3-3). Budva, led by Bogdan Djurdjic and the ex-player of Vojvodina Srdjan Vuksanovic (both scored four goals each), controlled the match most of the time. When Montenegrins jumped to 12-7, four minutes by the end, everything was clear.

In the last game of the 15th round, Partizan achieved a third straight win, by beating Primorje (10-7), in Belgrade. The champions of Serbia had a lot of problems before the game because several players got ill in the last few days and six of them missed this match. Despite that, Partizan was a better rival from the start of the game. The hosts led 6-1 already in the second quarter and had a 10-4 lead in the last period. Partizan secured a victory on time. Three goals in a row by the guests came too late, in the last two and a half minutes. Partizan climbed to the fourth place and continued the battle for a spot at the Final four.
