Jug Dubrovnik continues winning streak

After a 45-day break, the Regional League was continued today. Home sides achieved wins in all five games of the 8th round in A1 Group

Title-holder Jug continued its winning streak. It defeated Partizan – 15:10. Jug took a flying start and earned a 7:2 lead in the first period. The young players of Partizan managed to catch the right rhythm and came close to the big rival (7:4, 8:5, 9:6). But they weren’t able to reduce the gap any further. Jug, led by Serb Viktor Rasovic (5 goals this evening), netted three unanswered goals in the middle of the third period, it jumped to a 12:6 lead and secured the win.

Jadran Herceg Novi kept the third place beating Mornar. The encounter in Herceg Novi saw the scoreless first period. Mornar led (1:2) three minutes before the halftime. After that, Jadran ruled the field. The champion of Montenegro scored six goals in a row and jumped to a 7:2 lead at the end of the third quarter. The hosts hadn’t a hard task to keep the big advantage in the last eight minutes (8:4).

Mladost blew away Primorje –16:8. The Zagreb-based team was led by Romanian Cosmin Radu, the former player of Primorje. He scored five goals.

Jadran Split held off Budva (13:7). Jadran water polo players controlled the match from the first minute. They grabbed an 8:3 lead early in the third period which decided the outcome. Budva couldn’t recover in the remaining time.

Primorac Kotor started to run away from the bottom of the table. 2009 European champion hosted POSK and grabbed a 3:0 advantage after just four minutes of the game. Both teams had ups and downs, but POSK wasn’t able to go in front. Primorac built a necessary gap in the second quarter (6:2). In the second half, the Montenegrins maintained the difference and won 8:4.
