Favorites collected the points in all matches of the 16th round of the Regional League. The best-ranked sides Mladost, Jadran (Herceg Novi) and Jug Dubrovnik beat their respective rivals easily. Jadran Split defeated Sabac and mathematically secured its spot at the Final Four tournament. The Split-based team joined Mladost, Jadran (Herceg Novi) and Jug, which have qualified for the F4 earlier.

Sabac was the home team in the encounter between the Serbian Cup winner and Jadran Split. The visitors had a 2:0 lead after the first period, but Sabac dominated the opening minutes of the second period. The hosts produced a 5:1 run for a 5:3 advantage. At halftime, the sides were tied (5:5), while Jadran took control after the big break for a 9:6 victory.

Mladost, the league-leader, played against Partizan in Zagreb.  The encounters between these two sides have been big derbies in the past decades, but Mladost is much better than its Belgrade-based rival this season. The home side quickly earned a 5:0 lead, which determined the rest of the match. Partizan was coming back from time to time, but the difference between the teams was never smaller than two goals. Both defenses didn’t work well, so 29 goals were scored. Mladost recorded an 18:11 win.

Jadran Herceg Novi, which reached the Euro Cup final on Wednesday, hosted Mornar Split. The match was played in Niksic, which is approximately 100 km far away from Herceg Novi. The pool in Herceg Novi, in which Jadran plays its matches, is under reconstruction, as a storm ruined the roof of the pool last Saturday. Jadran played like a storm in Niksic. Early in the third period, the home side earned an 8-goal advantage (9:1). The Montenegrins won points with a 12-goal win (17:5). After this loss, Mornar lost its slim chance to advance to the Final Four.

Jug Dubrovnik had an easy task, as it faced last-placed POSK Split (14:6).

Crvena Zvezda (Red Star) defeated Primorac and avoided the play-out. Red Star secured at least 8th place. Primorac, the visiting team, opened the match very well. Red Star was 1:5 down in the middle of the 2nd quarter. But, the hosts were able to come back. Red Star enjoyed an 8:1 run and went 9:6 up a minute and a half from the end of the third period. The home team dominated until the last buzzer (13:8).
