Favorites did their jobs in the 6th round of the 2018/19 Regional League. Home teams defeated their respective rivals in each of 5 games in Group A1

The match of the day was an encounter between two namesakes. Jadran Split visited Montenegro to face Jadran Herceg Novi. The 1st and the 2nd quarter saw a balanced battle. The teams were tied in the 14th minute (5:5). From that point on, Jadran Herceg Novi controlled the match. The hosts went 10:6 up in the middle of the last period and there was no way back for the Croats. Jadran Herceg Novi posted an 11:7 win and climbed into the 3rd place in the table, ahead of Jadran Split. This was the 3rd encounter between these two teams this season. The Split-based team was successful in the previous two, as it was better than the team from Herceg Novi in the Champions League Qualification Round 3 (11:9 in Split and a draw 6:6 in Herceg Novi)

Mladost firmly holds the 1st place. The 7-times European champion played against Mornar. In the 1st minute of the second period, Mladost had a slim lead (3:2). The league leader staged a 4:0 rush by halftime, and built a nice 7:2 advantage before the 3rd period. The visitors from Split weren’t able to come back. Mladost maintained the gap in the remaining time (12:7)

Jug had no mercy in a clash with Partizan. The title-holder beat Partizan with a 13-goals margin (17:4).

Crvena Zvezda (Red Star) eventually recorded a win. The returnee to the A1 league hosted POSK Split. The visitors had a solid start. POSK led 3:2 early in the 2nd period, but next came four straight goals from Red Star (6:3 in the 18th minute). POSK scored two goals in a span of 49 seconds to come to 5:6. The Serbs, led by Kristian Sulc (6 goals this evening), answered with a 4:1 series. They were 10:6 up early in the fourth and managed to keep the advantage until the final buzzer (11:7). Red Star ran away from the last place in the table, while POSK fell to the bottom.

Newcomer Sabac remains the best-placed Serbian club. It beat Primorac at home (12:10) and moved up to the 6th place. The hosts had a solid 4-goal advantage already in the 9th minute (6:2), but the visitors from Montenegro started climbing back. Primorac trailed 8:10 four and a half minute from the end. However, Sabac avoided a thrilling finish, as it scored two goals for 12:8 (1.13 on the clock) and secured the victory.
