Visiting teams were more successful in the third round of the A1 Regional League. Guests achieved three wins in five matches. Two namesakes played the most thrilling match of the round. Jadran Herceg Novi beat Jadran Split as a guest.

The spectators in Split saw two Croatian-Montenegrin encounters. POSK hosted Budva, while Jadran Herceg Novi was a guest of its namesake. In the first game of the evening, POSK beat Budva. The home team secured the victory already in the middle of the third quarter when it earned a 4-goal lead (8:4). POSK maintained the advantage till the end (11:7).

In the match of two Jadrans, the hosts controlled the match during first three quarters.  They earned a 2-goal lead (7:5) in the middle of the third period. But, in the last minute of the quarter, Jadran Herceg Novi netted two goals in a span of 38 seconds and levelled the score before the 4th quarter. The guests added one more goal early in the fourth period and turned a deficit into the first lead (8:7). Jadran Split managed to equalise 3.09 before the final buzzer. Jadran Herceg Novi responded with two goals in the 30th minute (Merkulov and Popadic) for a 10:8 victory.

Guests were better in an encounter between two young teams, which opened the 3rd round. Partizan beat Primorje in Rijeka – 10:4. The side from Belgrade led throughout the match. Primorje was held scoreless for 17 minutes, from the middle of the second quarter till the middle of the fourth. Partizan water polo players achieved the biggest advantage in the 29th minute when they had an eight-goal lead (10:2). Primorje netted twice in the last four minutes to avoid a bigger defeat.

Mladost started strongly in the match against Mornar in Zagreb. The hosts scored four unanswered goals in first six minutes. They jumped to an 8:2 lead by the end of the first half, so there was no way back for Mornar. Mladost didn’t lose a lot of strength to keep the lead. At the end, the score was 14:7.

Jug recovered from a defeat in the 1st round of the Champions League (when Dynamo beat the Croats in Moscow) and continued its winning streak in the Regional league. The title-holders were merciless in Kotor. They dominated the match against Primorac and beat the hosts 16:9. Jug earned a 5-goal lead in the 2nd period (8:3), the guests were 10:4 up early in the third quarter. From that point on, only the margin of their win was in question.

The team from Dubrovnik has lost only one game in the Regional League in the past 12 months. In February, Partizan surprised Jug (16:14) in Belgrade.

Serbian clubs dominate in A2 Regional League. Crvena Zvezda (Red Star) and Sabac are unbeaten, but Crvena Zvezda played one match more than Sabac.
