Italy races past France in World League opener


Italy got off to a solid start of their new FINA World League campaign. On Tuesday, in an advanced 2nd round match-up the Italian women controlled France 14-4. Led by top scorers Roberta Bianconi and Valeria Palmieri, each netting 3 shots, the Fabio Conti coached side cruised to victory.

Round one matches will be played next week, on November 29, while the other game of round two will be battled on December 20 in Utrecht, Netherlands.

The composition of the women’s European Groups of the 2017 World League is as follows:

Group A: Russia, Greece Netherlands
Group B: Italy, Hungary, France
