Sport Management also achieved a convincing win, despite it didn’t play well in defense. The Verona-based team visited Rome, where it faced Lazio. Sport Management was 5:3 up after the first period, but Lazio managed to level the score (5:5) by the middle of the second quarter. The visiting team responded with four straight goals for a 9:5 lead (17th minute). Lazio was coming back from time to time (it trailed 10:11 deep into the third period), but it wasn’t able to equalize once more. Sport Management achieved a 17:13 win.

Third-placed Brescia played against Posillipo in Naples. The home team earned a 2:1 lead in the first period. Brescia netted three unanswered goals and went 4:2 up (18th minute). Posillipo managed to reduce the gap two times (3:4 and 4:5), but the visiting side didn’t let surprise, beating the hosts 7:4.

The surprise of the day happened on Sicily, where Catania hosted and beat Savona, despite it went through some scares in the first half. After first 8 minutes, Catania led 3:2, but one of their main players Kovacic was sent off in the first period because of unsporting behavior. Savona leveled the score in the fourth minute of the second period (3:3). Then came another problem for the home side. Giorgio Torissi was excluded for a brutality (04.03 before the end of the period). Catania had to play with 5 men in the field till halftime. Savona went ahead and it had a 2-goal lead after this quarter (7:5). Catania started climbing back from the beginning of the third period. The Sicily-based team jumped to a 10:8 lead (2.02 before the end) and kept all three points in the remaining time (10:9).

Catania helped Ortigia and Canottieri Naples. Ortigia, another team from Sicily, collected three points in a match against Bogliasco (13:8) and it climbed into the fourth place, ahead of Savona.
Canottieri beat Trieste (11:7) and caught Savona in points.
