Szolnok and Eger continued to dominate in their groups of the Hungarian championship as both teams recorded huge wins in matches of Round 8 of the competition.

Szolnoki demolished Domino Avus 20:8 and the home team was better in every aspect of the water polo game. As in all matches before in this season, the only question is how many goals is Szolnok going to score.

It is really amazing, the way European and Hungarian champion is playing in this part of the season.

At the moment Szolnok has a goal scoring average of 17,2 in the Hungarian championship and it is still going up! Against Domino Avus already at the halftime home team had a nine goals advantage.

Bence Batori was in a really good shape as he scored six goals, while Milos Cuk found the net five times in this game. In the second half, Szolnok players could relax a little bit, so Domino Avus scored five goals.

In the B group Eger, water polo club defeated visiting Szentes 17:8. The home team was a big favorite but had some problems in the first quarter.

However, when the game continued, Eger demonstrated some firepower. Norbert Hosnyanszky and Angelos Vlachopoulos were very good – both scored four goals for the home team and opened the door for another victory.

Miskolci water polo team continued to fight for the second place in the B group with a win against visiting PVSK 10:6. Miskolci opened the game in good fashion and took a 4:1 lead, but PVSK managed to come back.

However, in the third quarter, the home team scored three and conceded no goals, so the question of the final winner was settled. Sasa Misic from Miskolci was the man of the match with four goals.

Ferencvaros managed to recover from the last week derby loss against Szolnok and recorded an easy win against Kaposvari – 23:6. Krisztian Manhercz and Slobodan Nikic were the best individuals in the winning team. Manhercz scored five and Nikic netted four goals.

The two Budapest teams who are fighting for the third place in the A group were defeated at home in this round of the competition. Vasas lost against UVSE – 8:6, while Debrecen won at BVSC 11:10.
