Eger and Szolnok victorious at home, Miskolc wins the derby

Szolnoki and Eger continued to display some good water polo at the beginning of the Hungarian national championship. Also, BVSC and Miskolci joined them in the elite group of the teams which had a perfect start of a season.

The defending champion, Szolnoki scored 23 goals in the first round, and on Saturday this team scored “just” 17 times against visiting UVSE. Andrija Prlainovic led the scoring sheet for the hosts with five goals, while his compatriot Milan Aleksic found the net three times.

Once again Sandor Cseh’s team dominated offensively and defensively through the whole match, while UVSE just managed from time to time to keep the rhythm of the champions.

In the other match of Group A, BVSC Zuglo won at home against Kaposvari – 10:6. Krisztian Letay led the Budapest team with three goals and BVSC definitely opened the door to victory in the third quarter.

Ferencvarosi water polo club played its first match in new season of Hungarian championship and recorded a big win against visiting newcomer Domino Avus – 18:5
Marton Vamos scored four goals for Fradi, while Nikola Jaksic, Szilard Jansik, and Krisztian Manhercz all found the net three times each.

In the Group B water polo players of Eger found a good offensive rhythm against visiting Tatabanya and won 15:5. Already at the half-time home team had a five goals advantage (7:2).

Krisztian Bedo and Angelos Vlachopoulos both scored hattricks, while Adam Szentesi defended the honor of Tatabanya with two goals.

Miskolci water polo club had a good game at their swimming pool and won against Honved 11:6 to keep up the pace with Eger. Home team lead during the whole game, Erik Csacsovszky, Marton Lajko and Kristof Szatmati all scored two goals each for Miskolci.

Unlike Honved, the other Budapest team in this group, OSC recorded a first win of the season against Metalcom Szentes. In this game, things were very clear already after the first quarter in which home team took a 5:0 lead.
