Two defeats which meant fourth place at the so desired Champions League Final Six forced the leaders of Italian powerhouse Pro Recco into changes. Following the previous signing of new head coach, and former player, Vladimir Vujasinovic the Italian champion confirmed the signing of Argentinian-born lefthander Gonzalo Echenique who leaves Primorje, Italian promising youngster Edoardo di Somma and experienced goalie Goran Volarevic.
The acquisitions also had a sense of urgency after the departure of several players, most notably Serbian world champion Andrija Prlainovic who took his talents to Hungary signing with Szolnok. But also defenders Niccolo’ Gitto (Sport Management), Massimo Giacoppo (Ortigia), Alex Giorgetti (CC Napoli) and goalkeeper Giacomo Pastorino decided to move elsewhere this summer. On the other end Francesco di Fulvio and Matteo Aicardi extended their contracts.
