In round 14 of Greek water polo League PAOK hosted Palaio Faliro in Thessaloniki. The guest team took an early lead and took a 4-3 advantage into the break, but the pace of the game changed in the second half. PAOK started playing exceptional defense, shutting out their opponents for the third quarter, and gained a three-goal difference. In the last quarter, visitors were only able to bring the deficit down to 1. After the 7-6 win, PAOK took a Top 6 spot leading to playoffs.

Ydraikos swept Chios 7-5 in a closely fought contest. The teams played a balanced first half, after which Ydraikos netted two unanswered goals in the third period, and home water polo players only managed to cut the lead down to two goals. Chatzikyriakakis led the visiting team with three goals. Ydraikos are now in the 8th place tie with 7th Palaio Faliro, and maintain high hopes for getting a ticket for the playoffs, being only 2 points from Top 6.

Elsewhere, Panionios came away with a nice 13-8 win over Kalamakiou, and Vouliagmeni stormed home for a 10-3 victory against Glyfada.

Olympiacos once again proved to be dominating force in Greek water polo and easily rolled past the Panathinaikos squad 11-3. The game’s top scorer Konstantinos Mourikis scored a leading goal, but the hosts managed to tie the result, and Vitella’s goal gave the first and only lead to Panathinaikos (2-1). Espanyol netted the equalizer, after which Olympiacos continued to increase their advantage. With Panathinaikos going scoreless in the second half, there was no doubt about which way this game is going to end.

The last match-up saw Etnikos take on Patras 14-7. Chondrokoukis and Tsagkaris led the home team with 3 goals. Vikatos also found the net three times for the visitors.
