Radomir Drasovic emerged as the game saver for Partizan in the Regional league season opener last Friday where the Serbian champions edged Mornar 9-8 thanks to a late hit by the youngster. Drasovic scored on extra-man with 40 seconds on the clock erasing a two-goal comeback by Mornar, from 8-6 down and got Partizan straight to their first win in the league’s opener.

Elsewhere the Croatians of Primorje held off Jadran Split at home 10-5 in a solid performance. The main figures from last season’s powerhouse line-up, Ante Vukicevic, and centre-forward Coasmin Radu, led the scoring with 3 and 2 goals respectively, while newcomers Aussie Shark Nathan Power and Slovakian Maros Tkac also got on the scoreboard. Jadran Herceg Novi also got off to a nice start by beating Vojvodina Novi Sad 9-5 at home in Herceg Novi. The Vladimir Gojkovic coached squad used a superior first-half showing to decide the outcome as the half-time score of 5-1 proved enough for the home side. League champions Jug played a friendly tournament in Monte Carlo and thus had postponed their Regional league match versus Budva to October 19.
