The 99th Italian championship has been continued after a three-week break. Matches of the 14th round, the first in the second half of the league, were played on Saturday. Favourites didn’t let surprises, but the round saw some very thrilling matches.

Pro Recco recorded its 14th win, defeating Savona. The title-holders, the visitors in this encounter, were 6:1 up after the second period. and they secured a win in the first few minutes of the fourth period when they jumped to a 9:3 lead (12:5 at the end). An encounter between Bogliasco and Lazio also offered a thrilling finish. Bogliasco dominated till the middle of the last period. It led 7:3 two minutes and 35 seconds before the final buzzer.Next came Lazio, with three goals in a row in a span of 105 seconds and narrowed the gap on one. But, the Rome-based team couldn’t go further and Bogliasco celebrated a 7:6 victory.

Acquachiara is still with no points. Even 12th-placed Trieste was too strong for the team from Naples. Trieste, led by Serb Drasko Gogov (4 goals), beat Acquachiara with ease (10:4).
