BVSC Zuglo got a huge win away against local Budapest rivals Honved – 9:7 in Round 13 of Hungarian championship. It also means that BVSC now moved to position number four in B group at the expense of tonight rival.

In the first quarter, it seemed like Honved is controlling the game, because it was home team that opened scoring sheet. Martin Szivos and Thomas Gyarfas scored for Honved, but at some point at the start of the second period, visitors managed to stop Honved offensive power.

As time passed by, BVSC looked as a better team in the pool and when Krisztian Letay brought them two goal lead (7:5), it seemed they were going to win this easily. But Honved finally woke up, Martin Szivos was unstoppable at the start of the final quarter and home team managed to equalize.

But it was not Martin Szivos who became a hero tonight. It was Karoly Czigany of the BVSC who found the net twice in final two minutes and led the visitors to a victory which probably brings them a spot in Top 8 group.

Elsewhere tonight, leaders of B group, Eger won at Kaposvar 12-8 thanks to a brilliant display in the third quarter which saw them score four goals and conceding none. Balazs Erdelyi led the way for Eger with four goals, while Boris Vapenski and Milos Cuk both scored twice.

In a match of A group OSC Budapest won easily in Debrecen by 20-7 and still has a chance for winning first place, but only if Szolnoki loses final two matches in these phase of the competition. Bence Batori of OSC was top scorer with four goals.

Ferencvarosi managed to a draw at Miskolci pool and it was Stefan Mitrovic goal three and a half minutes before the final whistle that left the guest team undefeated. It was his second goal of the game.

UVSE beat visiting Tatabanya 15-9 in a duel of two teams that are on to bottom B group.

On Thursday leader of A group, Szolnoki had an easy task against Metalcom Szentes. The visitors won 14-4 and Andrija Prlainović was great with four goals. Home team just couldn’t compete tonight against one of the best European teams at the moment.
