BVSC water polo club secured a top-four finish in the Group A of the Hungarian championship and joined Szolnok and Ferencvaros. BVSC won against UVSE 14:9 in the match of the Round 11 and secured a third place in the standings.

So, now it remains to be seen who will clinch spot number four in this Group and the contenders are Vasas, Debrecen, and Kaposvar.

It was a really good team performance from the BVSC as they had eleven players who managed to find the net of UVSE. Meszaros, Pasztor, and Letay were among the best with each scoring two goals.

Ferencvaros had to fight hard against visiting Debrecen and eventually the hosts won 15:9. Debrecen water polo players started the match in turbo mode, gaining a 3:0 lead. Only after that Ferencvaros started to play.

Minute by minute, play by play, Fradi regained the control of the game. In the third and fourth quarter, the home team showed its superiority. Strikes from Vamos, Varga, and Madaras gave Ferencvaros a three-goal lead. In the last quarter Fradi found the net four more times and resolved any dilemma.

Another Budapest great, Vasas also had some trouble in the first half of the game against Domino Avus. Surprisingly, the visitors had a 5:4 lead after the first 16 minutes. Vasas woke up in the second half to strike a win and Gergo Marnitz scored six goals.

In the group B, there was no surprise in the duel between Eger and Honved. The home team won easily 17:4 and maintained a perfect record in the championship while Honved will have to fight for a fourth place.

Eger had a six goals lead already at the halftime break, Norberg Hosnyanszky finished the game as best scorer with four goals, while Decker and Vlachopoulos found the net three times each.

OSC continued to chase Eger with a home win against PVSK – 10:6. It was another tough match in the first half because PVSK managed to finish this period of the game on equal terms with the favorite.
But, when the game continued OSC showed that it has more individual quality and recorded an important win.
