Brescia, Savona advance to Coppa Italia Final Four

Petar Muslim scored 4 goals for Brescia in the 16-7 win over Savona.

AN Brescia and RN Savona are the first teams qualified for the Italian cup Final Four (March 2017) following their group C round 2 matches last weekend. Favourite side Sport Management was eliminated, partially because of a formal 5-0 defeat to Savona as the referee reported the team to have hit the water with 4 foreign players, thus breaking the rules of a maximum of 3, which proved to be a costly ‘defeat’. A 6-5 loss to Brescia in the final game meant the verdict was there. Savona defeated Roma Vis Nova 8-6, also in round 3 and secured 2nd place in the group, behind a perfect Brescia who got 3 out of 3.

The other group, featured Pro Recco, Posillipo, Trieste and CC Napoli, saw their matches postponed to January 31-February 1, 2017 with also the top 2 teams advancing to the Final Four.
