Barcelona and Barceloneta win the Catalan derbies!

Round seven of the Spain national championship brought us some top quality water polo matches. The defending champion Barceloneta claimed a dominant win against Mediterrani (18:8), Quadis Mataro won away against Real Canoe – 9:8, Terrassa had an easy job in Pamplona (15:6), while Barcelona won at Catalunya 8:6 in a local derby.

Also, Sant Andreu beat Tenerife 19:6 and Astralpool Sabadell literally trashed the newcomers Concepcio 28:1.

The Quim Colet team had a very peaceful and relaxing game. They really dominated from the beginning to the end. Obviously, Sabadell water polo team has started to climb in the standings. In tonight’s, game Gerard Reixach was outstanding with seven goals.

In one of the two Barcelona derbies of the day, Barceloneta won against Mediterrani (18-8) in the Sant Sebastia swimming pool. The away team has fought, but they had no chances against the defending Spanish champion.

Barceloneta water polo club remained the only undefeated team in the competition so far. The home team’s 6:1 partial win in the second period was decisive for the final outcome of the game. The best scorer in Barceloneta was Álvaro Granados with four goals.

Sant Andreu water polo club has again found a victorious was after two defeats against Barceloneta and Terrassa. The recorded a victory at home against Tenerife Echeyde – 19:6.

Only in the first period, the visitors managed to give some kind of resistance. But, after that, everything was just about Sant Andreu, and Garcia played a perfect game with eight goals.

In Pamplona, Terrassa won three important points against Navarra – 15:6. The home team fought, as always, but one of the candidates for the top four finish knew how to deal with them.

One of the most interesting matches of the day was played in Madrid, where Quadis Mataro beat Real Canoe NC – 9:8.

In the other local Catalan derby, CN Barcelona has won away at Catalunya 8:6. The key period of the game was the third quarter in which Barcelona won 3:1.
