Andrija Prlainovic will be out for several months after suffering from mononucleosis. The summer acquisition of Hungarian champion Szolnok complained from the start of the club season of fatigue. At first, it was assumed this had to do with Prlainovic’ busy summer in which he guided the Serbian national team to a World League win and eventually the Olympic gold medal in Rio but after further investigation, it turned out that the 29-year old was suffering from mononucleosis.
No medicines are available, one generally uses a strong antibiotic cure. The disease must lie down, but after the defeat, one forever remains a virus carrier.
Sándor Cseh, head of Szolnok, expects Prlainovic to be back by the end of the year.
